TrueCrypt is on-the-fly disk encryption software that can create a virtual encrypted disk within a file and mount it as a real disk. It can also encrypt an entire hard disk partition, or a storage device such as USB memory stick. It supports plausible deniability.
Release focus: Minor feature enhancements
Changes:
A Mac OS X version is now available. The Linux
version now includes a graphical interface, and
has been redesigned to no longer be affected by
kernel changes. Support for XTS mode, which is
faster and more secure than LRW mode, was added.
The SHA-512 hash algorithm replaced SHA-1. Many
other minor improvements, bugfixes, and security
enhancements were made. Upgrading to this version
is strongly recommended.
