TrueCrypt is on-the-fly disk encryption software that can create a virtual encrypted disk within a file and mount it as a real disk. It can also encrypt an entire hard disk partition, or a storage device such as USB memory stick. It supports plausible deniability.
Release focus: Major feature enhancements
Changes:
Among the new features are the ability to create a TrueCrypt volume under Linux, the ability to create a ‘dynamic’ container whose physical size (actual disk space used) grows as new data is added to it, the ability to change volume passwords/keyfiles under Linux, the ability to create keyfiles under Linux, and many more. This release makes the Linux version completely independent of the Windows version. However, both versions will continue to be mutually compatible.
